This brushtail possum was the victim of a car near Huonville. Sadly she was the mother of a very young baby possum, which appears to have crawled out of her pouch after her death, but then died of the cold. Interesting site here which provides information about looking after baby possums. This one was very tiny, and dead. I don't think I'd have been able to keep it alive even if I'd found it in time. Besides, really there are a great many possums. If it was a wombat I might be more interested in trying a rescue.
